Trawl tub made from local Newfoundland spalted birch. Finished with mineral oil. Measures 6.5'' diameter, 4.5'' high and 3'' deep.

Life sized trawl tubs were historically used by fishermen for transporting fishing lines and nets.

Special Care Instructions:
Finished with a protective coating. Dust with a dry cloth.

About the Artist:
Self-taught in the craft of woodworking, Gordon Gosse creates one of a kind pieces of art. He carefully selects wood species and colour combinations to produce items with appealing inlay motifs. Gordon’s artistic abilities ensure attractive design and a masters degree in engineering guarantees structural integrity in his work. He spends considerable time and effort researching and understanding the physical characteristics of wood in order to produce products that will withstand the test of time.

Gordon was the recipient of the award for “Functional Excellence” at the 2002 Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador Annual Members Exhibition, and at the 2003 exhibition he received the “Technical Mastery” award.
