Some financial contributions of the Historical Sites Association include:

Providing $38,000 over three years for the creation of an aboriginal exhibit at L’anse Aux Meadows

  • Provided $300,000 over five years for the new exhibition in the Visitor Centre at Signal Hill National Historic Site
  • Financial support for Theatre d’Heritage at Castle Hill
  • Provided $25,000 for the translation of the Red Bay Underwater Archaeological Report
  • Provided an annual grant totaling $130,000 to support the Viking re-enactors living history presentation at L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site
  • Raised and provided $45,000 for the Meeting of Two Worlds sculpture at L’anse Aux Meadows
  • Annual financial support for the Signal Hill Tattoo since 2000
  • Provided $85,000 funding for interpretive signage for Port au Choix National Historic Site of Canada, as well as publishing the book Ancient Cultures Bountiful Seas: the Story of Port au Choix by Dr. Priscilla Renouf
  • Provided $75,000 towards the conservation and restoration of the Cape Spear Lighthouse Dome, Cape Spear National Historic Site of Canada
  • Contributed $350,000 the reconstruction of the Queen’s Battery Barracks
  • Managed and supplied 70% of the funds for the restoration of Hawthorne Cottage
  • Contributed $270,000 to the refurbishment of the interior of Cabot Tower
  • Provided $2,100 for the development of four vignettes for the Live on the Lawn Theatre with the Baccalieu Players
