Why a "Vinland Troll"? The idea for the troll art doll was inspired by artisan Loretta Decker's memories of growing up in L'Anse aux Meadows. For the children, tales of the Vikings and their world were as frightening, as they were thrilling and wondrous. These childhood memories have remained vivid throughout Lorreta's life.
The Vinland Troll art dolls are dressed in handmade wool and linen clothing with glass beads, brooches, and leather pouches as worn by Norse men and women around 1000 A.D. Each is handmade, features Tibetan wool hair and has a genuine name from the Viking Age.
"Ulfeid" measures approximately 14" tall. She comes with a removeable bonnet and a metal base for display. Made in Newfoundland by Loretta Decker of L'Anse aux Meadows.
