Beautiful Labradorite pendant made from genuine Labrador-harvested mineral. Genuine Labradorite from Labrador is especially rare due to the remoteness of the deposit area, often requiring access via helicopter, the closure of the only Labradorite mine, and the special permission which is required to harvest the material.

Made in Newfoundland and Labrador. Pendant face measures 1 inch wide by 6/7 inches high. Please note this is for pendant only, chain is not included.

Labradorite is the provincial mineral of Newfoundland and Labrador.

About Labradorite:
According to legend, the Northern Lights once fell from the ancient night sky. A young inuit hunter came across the lights trapped in a rock. With a mighty blow of his spear, he freed the lights from their prison. However,  some light remained in the rock, giving Labradorite it’s beautiful flashing color.

Labradorite is a Feldspar mineral and is known for it’s characteristic blue “flash”, also known as labradoresence. It was discovered in Labrador, but can also be found in Madagasgar and Russia.

In some circles, Labradorite is considered to be a stone of transformation and magic. It is most often used for protection, inner awakening and intuition.
