The Historic Sites Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (HSA) is a non-profit and charitable organization lead by a volunteer board of directors, with a mandate to present the province’s history and heritage.
Six awards were presented in distinct categories for outstanding achievement in heritage presentation. Congratulations to all our winners!
Community Category: Of Fish and Family, a book by John Greene depicting an in-depth history of the community of Tilting.
Provincial Category:Francophone History of NL since the Treaty of Utrecht, for creating a dramatic interpretation of the history and heritage of the French in this province.
International Category:Dr. Pricsilla Renouf, for her lifetime of achievements and contributions to archeology, especially in the Port au Choix area. Photo: Dr. Renouf's sister, Mary Courage (right), accepting the award on her behalf.
Community Category: Placentia 350, for the coordination of many spectacular events and activities that celebrated the 350th Anniversary of the area of Placentia.
National Category:The Rooms, for the creation of two exhibitions that tell the story of the history of Newfoundland and Labrador.
